Protection on board
- FIRST AND FOREMOST -

At last summer has arrived - the ideal time to put out to sea - but remember to take care: overexposure can be physically harmful.

Because of the sun’s reflection, you can do yourself more damage at sea than on land. The water, the sails and the deck of your boat create reflections which increase your exposure to UV rays.

Even in windy or overcast conditions, UV radiation is still a factor so you need to be well equipped to protect yourself from the sun’s rays.

In the short term, you run the risk of sunburn, or even sunstroke, as a result of overexposure to UV radiation. In the longer term, you may damage your eyesight and experience premature ageing of the skin.

Vital equipment when you venture out to sea:

hats, waterproof sun cream (applied every 2 hours), sunglasses, anti-UV clothing, plenty of drinking water...
and, of course, deploy the NV sun covers and canopies designed for your boat.
