- Record du passage du Nord-Ouest -
A second attempt by our ambassador Clara Dumard

Last summer, our NV ambassador Clara Dumard, accompanied by her father, attempted to set a new sailing record by crossing the Northwest passage non-stop and unassisted, all the way from the Davis Strait in the east to the Beaufort Sea in the west. After travelling more than 5000 miles beyond the Arctic Circle, this attempt unfortunately had to be abandoned as a result of ice unusually blocking the main channels of the Northwest Passage.

Drawing on the invaluable lessons of this initial attempt, and with all the determination for which she is renowned, Clara Dumard is tackling the Arctic once again this summer at the helm of her Sun Fast 37, under the same conditions as last year, non-stop and unassisted.
